Prediction :: INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL)

Before any tournament starts, I am sure there are a lot speculations as to who the winner would be !!!

IPL, a prestigious cricket tournament, dubbed as ‘Manoranjan ka Baap’ started with a lot of Fanfare on 18th April 2008.

BCCI has got the timing absolutely right! Uranus the planet of innovation and invention and Jupiter, the planet of largesse and expansion are both in their own houses. Sun, Venus and Hylanome are in exalted positions. With as much as 5 important planets in strong positions, its clear that IPL is here to stay, may be as long as 34-50 years at least.

The final is scheduled on 1st June ’08 in Mumbai.

Now,…which team will win the inaugural edition of IPL?

The success rate of an astrologer depends on the availability of astrological data in detail. Predicting a Cricket Series outcome is a very tricky affair. Unlike Filmstars and Politicians, whose astrological details are easily available on internet and astrological magazines, it is very difficult to gather and validate astrological details of Cricketers and Sports Persons. More so, it is next to impossible to validate the data made available by all these personalities.

Many young sportsmen are known to fudge their birth data to prolong their careers, or to break into the national teams. For e.g. Shahid Afridi had to undergo bone marrow tests to prove his age. While he claimed to be 17, the tests showed, he could be more than 21. Geoffrey Boycott then said of Afridi, “If he is 17, then I’m 21”

Even if the birth date is ASSUMED TO BE CORRECT, there is a bigger issue. WE DO NOT HAVE THE BIRTH TIME OF ANY CRICKETER! Birth time is the most important tool in predicting events of a person’s life and astrologers are severely handicapped because of non availability of birth time. Hence predicting any cricketing event is like trying to scale Mt. Everest on a wheel chair.

Based on the data available to me we believe that …..

The team that is most likely to win the IPL tournament on 1st June 2008 at Wankhede Stadium, would be……., SHANE WARNE led, RAJASTHAN ROYALS…!



Shane Warne has Chiron placed at the most exalted position in his horoscope. It’s better than all the other captains of the tournament. The transit of planets Uranus and Jupiter, during April to June 2008, is also most favorable for Shane Warne, than other captains. Hence Shane Warne should win the cup.

But if Lord Ganesha has other plans, then, M S Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings or Yuvraj Singh led ‘Kings XI Punjab’ can also lift the cup.

Both these captains have their Uranus exalted in their horoscopes, and hence these two also have chances of winning the IPL. But as Dhoni, has already lifted a cup, just last year a repeat immediately in the next year may be very difficult. Yuvraj too has a chance at the cup. Hence the first choice would be Shane Warne, followed by Dhoni and Yuvraj.
