Billu is the first movie released by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment where the lead role is played by an actor other than its owner and in this case it is the irrepressible Irrfan Khan.

Irrfan Khan is one of the finest actors in the country and most film connoisseurs agree that he is also the most underutilized. Internationally acclaimed Irrfan has essayed various roles to prove his might in all genres of acting and astutely avoided the trap of typecasting. Some of these movies where his roles were varied and critically acclaimed include Haasil, Life in a Metro, Maqbool, The Namesake, The Warrior etc.

His transition from so called ‘Art’ movies to ‘Main stream cinema’ is almost complete and he is now a safe bet whether you want him in a film as an actor of finesse and class or as the archetypal Bollywood star. He is one of those rare actors who can play a key role in a major mainstream commercial cinema giving it the thrust to make it a commercial hit whilst simultaneously performing in critically acclaimed parallel cinema.

Perhaps Shah Rukh Khan is quick to spot this potential in Irrfan and that’s the reason he has cast Irrfan as the lead in ‘Billu’ and is agreeable with ‘incidentally’ starring in the film.

So… kya hoga Billu ka?

Will it be a hit or a miss?

The main lead of the movie, Irrfan Khan has an amazing horoscope with Saturn in its own house and a strong New Moon. But the biggest factor in his horoscope is the exalted ascendant lord Pluto in his own house in 10th. This is analogous with Barack Obama who has the same phenomenon in his horoscope. This implies that Irrfan would have a career which would be marked by initial struggles but would go on to be a Big Success, a la Obama. Besides, Irrfan is currently going through a favourable Jupiter dasa, which would bring in good luck in this period.

The leading lady of the movie Lara Dutta who looks stunningly beautiful in the promos, has a good horoscope as well. Besides being a Miss Universe, her best as an actress is yet to come. Her horoscope reveals that she can be a sensitive actress and carry off serious or glam roles with equal elan with strong planets that will help her get hit movies. Billu should be a major milestone in her career.

Billu is produced by Gauri Khan for Red Chillies and distributed by Eros International, directed by Priyadarshan and filmed by Manikandan. Filming the movie began in the 2nd week of April 2008 and is due to be released on 13th Feb 2009. The start date is very strong with Jupiter, Uranus and Moon in very strong positions and the release date is also favourable.

If the exact time of the muhurat shot is known, then it would be possible to predict the exact magnitude of the success of the movie. Unfortunately, this is not available in Billu’s case.

However, the combined strength of Irrfan Khan, Lara Dutta, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Red Chillies Entertainment, Eros International, Priyadarshan, and Manikandan is strong enough to make ‘Billu’ a HIT. None of the above mentioned people would be in any kind of loss and would only be benefitted by the movie.

Watch out for Irrfan… Billu Barber is going to be the first of a trend. His star is destined to shine very brightly, perhaps among the most resplendent in the industry.
