It’s even Steven now!
New Zealand has won the Twenty 20 series and India has won a One-day series for the first time on the New Zealand soil.
But, a bigger challenge awaits the Indians now! A veritable test of courage and determination in what the puritans deferentially refer to as the ‘real cricket’.
Indians have never won a test series in New Zealand in the last 42 years and here is a chance to amend that reprehensible record.
However, the youth brigade of the team will have to give way to the seniors of the test team... Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman et al. So, this feat is going to call to require a ‘new’ team... sans Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Yousuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Pragyan Ojha and Praveen Kumar.
Can this team do what most Indian teams couldn't do?
Can the Men in Blue create history by winning a test series after 42 years?
New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has a good horoscope with the largest planet of the solar system, Jupiter, in its most exalted position. He also has 'Planet Z' in the exalted position making him a strong competitor. His team does not boast of big names like Stephen Fleming or Shane Bond but nevertheless, New Zealand is a strong team to reckon with, with the likes of James Franklin, Ross Taylor and of course, Brendon McCullum.
The all pervasive Mahendra Singh Dhoni has Uranus in deepest exaltation and 'Planet Z' exalted in the ascendent. He is extremely fortunate in that he also has the best team ever in all formats of the game to have ever played for India, at his disposal.
The 'Fab 4' as they are fondly called, Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Laxman, had something common between them... exalted 'Planet Y'. This time there is no Saurav around.... but then he is replaced by the Uranus exalted, explosive Yuvraj Singh.
The combined strength of Virendra Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Laxman, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Balaji, Harbhajan, Zaheer Khan, Amit Mishra and Ishant Sharma is much stronger than the Daniel Vettori-led New Zealand team.
Yes... it will not be easy though.
Watch out for the bludgeoning Uranus exalted Brendon McCullum, the full moon born Tim McIntosh, Saturn exalted Jesse Ryder and Ross Taylor to create some hiccoughs along the way. The sooner the Indian team sees the back of these guys, the better.
The final verdict is clear though...
India has a total of 7 Uranus exalted players in the team.... and Uranus means breaking customs, traditions and ushering in a new era.
That’s exactly what will happen.
India will win this series and create history!
