Will Sen’sex’ be ‘Sexy’ in the near future?

Dated: 6th Aug 2009

By the time this article gone online, the Sensex is tantalizingly placed at 15903 points.

The ‘Sensex’ graph which uncannily resembles an echocardiograph that makes you either miss your heart beat or soars up madly, depending upon which direction it takes.

The Pundits and experts in finance are not clearly advising where the markets would lead and are extremely cautious in predicting the future direction of the Sensex, due to the global financial crisis in the last year.

So what do the planets have to say?

If we look at the major milestones of the Sensex since inception in 1979, we would realize that this is not the first time that Sensex has fallen. In fact after every boom due to a major planet’s influence, consecutively under the same planet’s influence, the market has crashed as well. It’s clearly been a vicious cycle.

Sensex touched 1000 points in 1991 and started galloping after Pluto entered its own house Scorpio after 300 years in 1992.

Under the influence of Pluto, the Sensex crossed 4000 points in 1995 and crashed again in the same year.

In the year 1998, ‘Planet A’ (The planet responsible for what Amitabh Bacchan is) entered into its exaltation point after 65 years and the Sensex sprinted and crossed 5000 points in 1999.

Immediately it was followed by a fall in 2000 & 2001, under the same ‘Planet A’

In December 2004, ‘Planet X’ marked its arrival by causing a tsunami. ‘Planet X’ went on to create another Tsunami in the stock market and Sensex crossed 10000 points in 2006. ‘Planet X’ is the same planet responsible for India’s independence. While it has given us the ecstasy of freedom, it also drove millions from their homes during partition.

When it came back in 2004, besides creating the tsunami, it was also responsible for the Mumbai & Surat floods, terrorist attacks in the Mumbai locals, on the Taj etc. So whilst creating a tempest in the stock market from 2004 to 2008 with the Sensex vrooming up to 20000+ points, the same ‘Planet X’ was also responsible for its downfall in 2008 and the resultant sub-prime crisis, collapse of the financial institutions, global meltdown etc.

You may also be aware that more celebrity babies were born in these 5 years than in the last 3 decades. It was raining celebrity kids from Shiloh Pitt to Hrehan Roshan and yes India had a stable government because of the same planet.

Planet X will finally leave in 2009 December, after 5 long turbulent years. Most of us are where we are today because of this planet. While leaving, ‘Planet X’ will leave with a flourish. It has always done so in the past. In a similar theme, we had our constitution written in 1950 giving us the foundation for a stable polity and now in 2009 in its last lap, ‘Planet X’ has given us a stable government. Also, the world is slowly learning to handle this temporary financial crisis.

Hence, the verdict is that in its last lap, ‘Planet X’ will zoom the Sensex up by a few thousand points, closing in at 20000 points by the end of the 2009. .

Finally when it leaves, ‘Planet X’ would leave us with some fond memories of the year 2009.
